Crockpot French Onion Meatballs

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

**FOR THE MEATBALLS:**

1. Combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Romano cheese, fresh ground pepper, and chopped parsley in a bowl.
2. Place smashed garlic and olive oil on a rimmed baking sheet.
3. Form meatballs using a small ice cream scoop.
4. Place formed meatballs between the bits of garlic on the baking sheet.
5. Bake for 10 minutes.
6. Place meatballs on paper towels to absorb excess oil after baking.

**FOR THE REST (Crockpot Assembly):**

1. You can either add the onions into the crockpot raw, or caramelize them a little beforehand if you have time.
2. In the crockpot, add the beef bone broth, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Whisk until combined.
3. Add the prepared onions in an even layer.
4. Place the baked meatballs (or raw if you skipped the oven step, though the recipe implies baking first) in 1 even layer on top of the onions.
5. Cook on high for 4 hours, or until your meatballs are cooked through.
6. Add your shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
7. Keep covered on the warm setting until the cheese is melted or you are ready to serve.

Serve with egg noodles, rice, or a side of veggies.
